You see them everywhere. On television, magazines, billboards, at the gym, and you think to yourself, "How the heck did that guy get his abs to look like that?" He must have used the Ab Rocker 4000? Nope. He must have used the Tummy Twister XL? Nope. He must have used the Ab Electro-Jolt Belt? Nope, he didn't use that either. In all reality, none of those knick-knacks, overpriced machines, or gimmicks will give you or get you anywhere close to having six-pack abs. The only real way to transform your stomach into a washboard (or even just being less bulbous) is through diet and exercise and then more exercise. There is no magical machine or potion you can drink that is going to give your mid-section the look that you want it to have. It all truly comes down to choices, decisions, and shear desire and work ethic.
First Thing First: Your Diet
You'll not get anywhere close to six-pack abs, or even a flatter belly/slimmer waist without first changing your diet. As for what exactly you should eat or not eat, that is a very subjective, but if you are going out to eat 10-15 times a week you should probably stop doing that. If you drink at least a 12 pack of regular soda a week, you should probably stop doing that. If everything you eat is fried or has gravy on it, you should probably stop doing that. If a venti mocha chocolate carmel creme brulee-acino is your afternoon pick-me up, you should probably stop doing that. It isn't that complicated. What you put into your body is what you'll get out of it.
If you want those six-pack abs or a slimmer and flatter waistline you have got to make better eating choices. Cut out those sodas and drink more water. Stop going out to eat all the time. Go to the grocery store, buy some veggies, and make your meals at home, not only will you lose unwanted weight, you'll save money too (two birds one stone). Stop frying everything and try baking that chicken every once in a while. Instead off getting those highly caloric coffee drinks, just get plain old coffee and put a little half and half in it for some decadence. It isn't that complicated. More than likely you know these things already, now you just have to make the choice to make them part of your daily life.
Exercise, Exercise, Exercise
To say you have to exercise 8 hours a day 7 days a week to get six-pack abs would be technically correct, but who besides movie stars have time to to that. All it really takes is some dedication to a intelligently planned workout regiment. As for what you do exactly is entirely up to you and your body, but it should involve a variety of different sit-ups, and a whole lot of them. You should probably do some exercises that isolate certain muscles within your core, and a whole lot of them. You should also throw in an insane amount of push-ups as well. Finally, you need to run, run, run, and then run some more. Calorie burn is key to getting those abs to show up on your body.
Getting those six-pack abs won't be easy, it won't happen over night, and it won't happen in 30 days either, however, if you manage to show some discipline and dedication, in about 6 months to a year you're going to look into the mirror and say, "WOW!"
Discipline and Dedication
By far discipline and dedication is the most difficult aspect of getting six-pack abs. Six-pack abs are not a sometimes thing, they are an all the time thing. You actually have to exercise, even when you're feeling rundown and crappy. You have to watch what you eat and not have that piece of cake though you really want to. There is no easy way to put it, six pack abs take time and hard work. If you are able to put in that time a dedication you will eventually be rewarded with an awesome looking stomach, but not only that, smaller pants, fantastic compliments, and ladies who want to take a closer look at you and your six-pack abs.
